These works are all on heavy fine art paper. Every year I devote a period of time to works on paper. This is one of the most vital and exciting components of my practice. Paper liberates and leads to bold moves and risk-taking that don't come as easily on canvas. I tend to tape five sheets of paper to my studio wall and develop five images simultaneously, moving through each of the works in process at each session. Many ideas for paintings on canvas emerge through the playful exploration that happens with paper.
