These works are my response to reading William Faulkner's novel, The Sound and the Fury. Faulker's masterpiece portrays the painful story of a prominent southern family in dysfunctional decline. It explores themes of loss, alienation, racism, man's capacity for inexplicable emotional cruelty, and the saving grace of simple human kindness in the face of it.
