Ancient But Beloved History: BAA-MERICA!
Once upon a time I was a fiber artist, and my medium was crochet. The crowning achievement of this period of my life was my solo show of crocheted sheep sculptures, which was held at the Art League Gallery in Alexandria, VA in 2011, entitled BAA-MERICA! Each sheep represents an American icon, and was made with much care and love. I include them here as an important part of my checkered artistic history.
Four of the sheep (Louis, Andy, Liberace and Martha) have recently won a place in a national juried show: "FOLKSY, Cultural Traditions and Outside Visions," at the Annemarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center in Dowell, Maryland, April 26-September 22, 2019. Check it out!
