Road Trip Series

These collages were inspired by a cross-country road trip that I made in 2017, with my daughter Ellen. They were begun in 2017 and completed in 2018, when I finished the largest of these pieces, New Orleans Memorial. This work combines images of the Tomb of the Unknown Slave (located outside the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Treme, New Orleans) and the stained glass window honoring Mother Venerable Henriette DeLille (located in the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square). I combined these images, as Mother Venerable DeLille devoted her life to saving orphaned slave children in New Orleans.
